Scotland · Links Golf
If you love old links that refuse to behave, these are the two to argue about. Cruden Bay, north of Aberdeen, drops into a vast dune system with blind shots and a couple of holes nobody would dare build today. North Berwick, in East Lothian, runs along a public shoreline with stone walls in play, a green you approach over one of them, and the beach on your right for much of the way out. North Berwick is the easier day and the closer one to Edinburgh. Cruden Bay is the bigger landscape and the longer drive to get there.

We only compare courses that both meet Birdied's quality bar for a public page and sit in the same country, and every pair here is chosen by hand rather than generated. The table shows only facts we actually hold: a row appears when we have the detail for at least one of the two courses, and a fact nobody has given us is left out rather than guessed at. Ratings and round counts come from the rounds our members log, so they change as people play.
